        Educational path

LM-QSE is a two-years program (4 semesters) based on the most modern topics on quantum sciences and technologies as well as the development of a professional attitude in problem solving.

Students will gain expertise to tackle problems in theoretical, computational and experimental quantum sciences in the rapidly developing field of quantum technologies via an interdisciplinary program and dedicated labs and practical activities. The program is built on the large expertise
within the Department of Physics and Astronomy and the Department of Information Engineering.

Theoretical and computational courses will provide a background to model and characterize quantum many-body systems, develop quantum algorithms and perform different aspects of quantum computation and simulations, including applications to real world problems.

Experimental courses, which include laboratory activities, will offer direct access to quantum platforms for quantum communications and cryptography, computing and simulation, the key aspects for their development and control as well advanced data analysis.

The Study Plan can be highly personalized to fit the candidate's interests and expectations.

The Study plan Commission is in charge of verifying the coherence of the chosen exams with the Master degree professional profile. A list of courses offered for the academic year 2026/2027 is available at unipd.coursecatalogue.cineca.it/corsi/2026/15179.
